The verse on Julia’s headstone is Psalm 16:11 which says, “You make known to me the path of life; in Your presence, there is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore”.
The decision to use this verse wasn’t aimless or random, but rather calculated and intentional. Julia and her family knew this verse to be true for her and even now, she continues to share the gospel with anyone who will read this verse because of her.
We can rejoice because Julia is now literally in Jesus’ presence, but the rest of us aren’t excluded from this promise! The Lord is still present in our hearts and lives on earth. So, if we belong to Him, we belong to this joy.
One day we can join Julia and experience this joy and these pleasures fully and eternally, but don’t miss it even today! This week, and for the rest of our lives, may we keep our eyes fixed on the promises of FULLNESS of joy and pleasures FOREVERMORE given to us freely through Christ’s work on the cross.
